There is tons of planning to do before you give birth, and not nearly enough time. But one part of planning includes collecting a list of resources and contacts for after you give birth. You’ll need help! And, you’ll need information and various services. Here’s a quick guide to some post birth resources, stretching from Snohomish County, into King County and the eastside, and down to Pierce County.

Here, you’ll find lactation consultants, car seat help, postpartum assistance, pelvic floor physical therapists, baby photographers, and so much more – all based locally in and around the Puget Sound.
No one will need all these resources, but everyone will need at least one of them.
Lactation Consultants
There are quite a few of these just in Seattle, and others in the surrounding areas of King and Snohomish County. So this is just a partial list.

Car Seat Consultants
Yes, there actually are a few things to learn about car seats. Different types, what works best in your car, how to secure them, and more. And you’ll need to get the car seat before you give birth! You can’t just leave the baby there after they’re born because you forgot the car seat. So this is something to prioritize and figure out before your due date gets too close.
Seattle Children’s has a number of car seat consultation resources.
